Our Story
Since opening for business, Kelapo has focused on providing the market’s highest quality extra virgin coconut oil. Each of our products is a direct reflection of our commitment to wholesome, sustainable living. We personally base our healthy lifestyle around organic nutrition, regular exercise, and natural remedies. One way we do this is by incorporating coconut oils into our own everyday recipes and routines and we take great joy in making their benefits available to friends, family, and customers.
Our Mission

As one of the first Fair Trade coconut oil food products on the market, our products are organic, vegetarian and free of trans fats. Plus, we incorporate eco-friendly practices to protect and preserve the planet’s natural resources.
Our Founder
Not long after, I stumbled upon extra virgin coconut oil as a replacement for butter and oils in cooking. I couldn’t get enough of the coconut oil. I was using it on everything! After doing a little research, I soon discovered the many benefits of coconut oil- beyond just the great taste. It was at that point, that I decided it was my job to spread the news about coconut oil to all my friends and family. Since then, I’ve become the official voice, teaching all who will listen, about my beloved tropical delight. I guess you can say that “I’m nuts about coconuts!”
Sure, there were other coconut oils already out there, but to have the very best, I wanted to make sure of the quality of the oil from start to finish. I found certified organic farmers to harvest and extract high food-grade extra virgin coconut oil. The oil is then shipped to the US in eco-friendly shipping containers, packaged, and made readily available to all.

Our Elephant
Why did we choose an elephant to represent Kelapo? Elephants are a symbol of wisdom and extreme intelligence. Aristotle once said they passed all other animals in “mind and wit.” Elephants mind’s are so sharp that they are said to never forget. There are many stories of family members remembering each other more than 20 years since they last saw one another. Their intelligence is thought to rival dolphins and primates and in the case of female elephants, the older the elephant, the stronger her memory. Elephants are found throughout the South Pacific and have been a worshiped symbol in the Hindu religion and Asian cultures. Plus, elephants with their trunks turned up have been a long-held symbol of good luck. So how could we not use good luck, brainiac, elephant as the mascot for Kelapo?!
